Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager – Customer Service cum Documentation for AIR & SEA Export/Import operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing customer service and documentation tasks with immediate effect.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle Export/Import documentation efficiently.
• Prepare daily reports and delivery schedules.
• Be aware of Export Schemes and related regulations.
• Check freight rates for LCL/FCL/AIR with co-loaders, shipping lines, and IATA agents.
• Manage all necessary documents related to export and import.
• Correspond with overseas counterparts, shippers, and consignees.
• Place bookings and shipping instructions on LINERS web pages and through INTTRA.
• Coordinate with shippers/consignees to ensure timely stuffing and handover of containers to customs for clearance.
• Prepare entire export/import documentation (pre and post) and coordinate with lines for draft and BL releasing.
• Keep track of shipment orders and statuses.
• Attend to customer queries and perform administrative tasks.
• Coordinate with lines and shippers for surrenders.
• Liaise with shipping lines, CHA, and co-loaders for documentation.
• Work with existing suppliers to reduce costs/pricing.
• Follow up with shippers, consignees, and banks for payments.
• Maintain shipment details in Excel sheets and registers.
• Respond to customer inquiries and refer clients to the appropriate channels.
• Coordinate with transporters for handing over and picking up shipments after customs clearance.
• Coordinate with shipping lines/airlines for delivery orders for import shipments.
• Check the checklist for all air and sea export/import shipments.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Freight Forwarding.
• Proven experience in a customer service role within the freight forwarding industry, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer service software; experience with freight forwarding systems is a plus.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
